Forget a chip on your shoulder — Sarah Paulson is looking back at the time she accidentally spat a potato chip into Kim Kardashian’s eye while filming their upcoming legal drama, *All’s Fair.***

The Emmy-winning actress revealed that chip-spitting incident occurred while she and Kardashian were shooting a particularly contentious scene between their respective characters. **

“I had to say some really scandalous things in Kim’s face. I did at one time spit a potato chip on her," Paulson told PEOPLE. "I was in her face screaming, and it was like, ‘Bing!’ I saw it go in her eye.”

Paulson and Kardashian face off in the Ryan Murphy-created series, which follows the complicated cases and equally complicated lives of a group of divorce attorneys working at an all-female boutique law firm.**

Things between Paulson’s character Carrington Lane and Kardashian’s Allura Grant are especially murky given that Carrington also happens to represent Allura’s husband in their own ongoing divorce proceedings. **

And it’s clear that Carrington isn’t afraid to try different tactics to get under Allura’s skin. A trailer for the series shows Carrington even dressing up as Allura to irk her during a visit.

“You see me dressing up as Kim, which is one of the great days on set,” Paulson told ABC7. “And a real testament to Kim's sense of play, and fun, and her sense of humor, that she was like, 'Bring it! I can't wait.'"

She noted that they went directly to Kardashian’s makeup team to perfect the look. **

“My makeup artist was talking to her makeup artist about what color lip liner it was, and we were doing a full 'Kim' glam,” Paulson recalled. “And it was like, 'By the way, I've never looked hotter.'"**

In addition to Paulson and Kardashian,* All’s Fair* also stars Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Glenn Close, Teyana Taylor, and more. **

The series premieres Tuesday on Hulu.
