Kristen Wiig revealed what she told herself in the mirror before deciding to pursue a career as an actor.

Speaking to her longtime friend Amy Poehler on the *Good Hang* podcast, Wiig shared that she was a lost college student at the University of Arizona before moving to Los Angeles. The *Parks and Recreation* star asked her fellow *Saturday Night Live* alum if it was true that a psychic foretold her future career.

Wiig clarified that she had taken an acting class in college despite her fear of public speaking. After realizing she loved it, she took a look at herself in the mirror and asked herself what she really wanted to do in life.

"I do have this theory that if you ask yourself questions in the mirror, you cannot lie to yourself," she said.

The *Palm Royale *star decided then that she wanted to move to Los Angeles and become an actor, a desire that had "never come out of my mouth before." She later decided to go to a cheap psychic near her university, who affirmed her dream to go west.

"He's like, 'Why are you here?'" she said. "He's like, 'You should have been in L.A. like a year ago.' Swear on my life."
